Remarks Pre-adults stage are pelagic and become demersal. Found in rocky areas. Prowfish feeds gelatinous zooplankton, primarily scyphozoa and salps. Also found in the stomach of juveniles (5-13.3 cm) are hyperiid amphipods and remains of jellyfish tentacles (Ref. 50718).
