Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  6.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Rio Grande drainage from near mouth upstream to mouth of Rio Conchos and lower Pecos River in Texas, USA. Also in Rio Grande drainage in northern Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky and sandy channels of large creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723). They feed on aquatic insects (Ref. 79012). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
