Max. size:  3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 7
Distribution:  North America: Zacapu, Michoacán, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-20; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-13; Vertebrae: 30-32. Abdomopodium rays 2-7 thickened basally and curved anteriorly; series of 10-14 dark brown pigmented v-shaped vertical bars along sides; adult males with dark brown area surrounding about and in front of genital region; dark brown abdominal pigmentation (Ref. 42981).
Biology:  Found in turbid water, over mud bottoms (Ref. 42981). Hides under vegetation (Ref. 42981).
