Occurs in flooded savannas and coastal swamps which are sunlit. Frequently found in shallow waters and is sympatric with other Rivulus of French Guiana except R. ocellatus (Ref. 27188). Not a seasonal killifish. Juveniles are released from eggs measuring 1.2 mm (Ref. 35237). Sexual differentiation is possible at 4 months; sexual maturity is reached at 5 months of age (Ref. 27188). Calm and passive; is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139). |
