Family:  Pentanchidae (Deepwater catsharks)
Max. size:  26 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 1041 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: known only from the type locality, the Andaman Sea. Reported from India (Ref. 45255).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Known only from the holotype. Maximum length presumably comes from an immature specimen. Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Not utilized at present.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 November 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
