Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 3200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Namibia (21°43'S to 27°14'S). Elsewhere, North Atlantic (55°43'N to 42°56'N) and western Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-27; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 24-27. Pelvic fins with a splint bone.
Biology:
