Family:  Chaetodontidae (Butterflyfishes)
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 114 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaiian Islands and Johnston Atoll.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 23-26; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 18-20
Biology:  Benthopelagic over reefs and rocks (Ref. 58302). Feed mainly on coral polyps, also polychaete worms and small shrimps. Usually seen in pairs. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).
