Distribution: |
Africa: Cutato River, a tributary of the Okavango in Angola. Recently recorded from the Cunene. Known only from a few specimens. The taxonomy of this species is under review and it is likely to be placed in another genus in the near future (Ref. 7248). |
Diagnosis: |
Description: moderately slender-bodied, with a short head and small mouth; frontal profile straight to slightly rounded; caudal fin truncate to subtruncate (Ref. 52307).
Coloration: preserved specimens: body bronze to brown; dorsal and caudal fin with rows of reddish-brown maculae; anal fin with several well-developed, reddish egg spots in males (Ref. 52307). |
