Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Apalachicola River drainage in Georgia, Alabama and Florida, USA; adjacent tributaries of Savannah, Altamaha, and Coosa rivers in Georgia, and Tallapoosa River in Georgia and Alabama, USA. Possibly introduced into Hiwassee River system in Georgia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky pools near riffles in clear creeks and small rivers (Ref. 86798). Oviparous (Ref. 205), probably nest spawners like congeners. Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
