Max. size:  7.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: South Australia to the Bass Strait area, Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 6-8. Caudal fin rounded (Ref. 9002). Pelvic fins united into moderate-sized double sucking-disc, posterior half with fleshy margin (Ref. 9002). Color variable, usually brownish with dark spots which form bands in young (Ref. 9002).
Biology:  Inhabits intertidal to subtidal reefs in rocky weed areas (Ref. 9002). Secretive, found under rocks (Ref. 9002).
