Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-19; Anal soft rays: 18-22; Vertebrae: 35-36. Supraorbital neuromasts 33-35. Contact organs on inner surface of most or all rays of pectoral-fin of male. This species has larger males with deeper body (34.4-36.7 % SL); sides of body with an intense orange coloration. Scaled anal-fin base. Dorsal fin of males with long filamentous rays; 17-19 in males, 14-17 in females. Caudal fin rays 30-32. Anal-fin rays 18-22 in males, 18-21 in females. Caudal and pectoral fins rounded. Snout gently pointed with lower jaw slightly elongated (Ref. 40938). |
