Max. size:  4.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range 1000 - 2000 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan (Ref. 559) and the South China Sea (Ref. 41521) to Australia (Ref. 7300) and New Zealand (Ref. 5755). Also known from the Indian Ocean. South China Sea (Ref.74511).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-16; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-16
Biology:  Oceanic and mesopelagic (Ref. 4066, 75154). Found in the upper 85 m at night.
