Diagnosis: |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 4-4; Vertebrae: 19-19. A large species with tubercles covering the ventral surface of disk and tail. Bases of principal tubercles on tail thickly covered with numerous small tubercles. Cranium relatively wide, 26.7% of SL as compared to a range of 16.7-25.6 for the genus. Cephalic lateral-line counts: subopercular 5; preopercular 2. Tail lateral-line counts 11. Paired fins relatively short, broad and fleshy with fin membranes transparent (Ref. 40826). |
