Distribution: | Western Atlantic: southeastern Florida (including Keys) in USA. This species requires a new scientific name, since Fundulus similis is correctly a synonym of Fundulus majalis, having been based on the Gulf population of that species. | |||
Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13 | |||
Biology: | Commonly found around mangroves and on tidal flats where vegetation is sparse and short (Ref. 5723). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139). | |||
