Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Laviniinae
Max. size:  38 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Virgin River system (Colorado River drainage) in Utah, Nevada and Arizona; Muddy River system (Moapa) in Nevada, U.S.A.
Diagnosis:  Lateral line usually with more than 88 scales; and scales deeply embedded or absent on back, breast and belly (Ref. 86798).
Biology:  Inhabits pools and undercut banks of headwaters, creeks and small rivers. Presumed maximum length is about 38 cm TL (Ref. 86798).
