Family:  Nototheniidae (Cod icefishes), subfamily: Nototheniinae
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 150 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands, Crozet and Prince Edward.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 29-29; Anal soft rays: 27-27. Back with transverse bars, break up into spots on the sides of the body. Pectorals with series of small dark spots on the rays, often with a blackish spot on the upper part of pectoral base (Ref. 11892).
