Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from the Inle Lake, Myanmar.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Vertebrae: 38-41. One of the most distinctive members of the genus Cirrhinus, characterized by an exceptionally terete body form; rostral barbels present, maxillary barbels absent.
