Family:  Balitoridae (River loaches)
Max. size:  4.21 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: River Pako, in the headwaters of the River Sesan, a tributary of Se Kong, itself a tributary of Mekong.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 8-8. One barbel-shaped papilla at the corner of mouth; pelvic fins not fused; distance between last pelvic-fin rays 2.7-4.0 times in body width at pelvic-fin origin; 13-14/10-12 pectoral-fin rays; 6-7/10-13 pelvic-rays and 59-64+1-2 lateral line scales (Ref. 42935).
Biology:  Collected from a small river about 60 m wide, with a succession of rapids over rocks and deep pools over sandy bottom. Caught in rapids with a current velocity exceeding 1 m/s with other rheophilous fish (species of Garra, Annamia, Hemimyzon, Homaloptera, Schistura, and Nemacheilus (Ref. 42935).
