Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Lampanyctinae
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 750 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Mauritanian Upwelling Region, near St. Helena and above the continental shelf at Namibia (23°S).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 14-15
Biology:  Pseudoceanic, found at 275-750 m during the day and at 90-275 m at night (Ref. 4479). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
