Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 741 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Circumtropical, sometimes found in subtropical areas.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 105-115; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 84-91
Biology:  Small specimens caught in midwater trawls (Ref. 34024). Oviparous, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205).
