Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 45 - 45 m
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika, only known from the type locality in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 46829, 47366).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 16-17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 6-6; Anal soft rays: 6-7; Vertebrae: 30-30. Short pectoral fin length, 17.1-17.9 % of SL (Ref. 47366). Scales: 39-40 lateral line scales, 4-5 tubed scales in the upper part of the lateral line (Ref. 47366).
Biology:  Habitat characterized by a steeply dropping and craggy rock cliff with terrace-like flats covered by deposits of sand and detritus and with many horizontal and vertical, narrow cracks; compressed body and short pectorals indicate a life in narrow, vertical cracks (Ref. 47366).
