Max. size:  20 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil and Venezuela.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This species prefers black-water rivers, and is found in tributaries of the Amazonas river basin, such as the Arapiuns and Negro rivers, and in the Orinoco river basin (Ref. 130734). Distinct pairs breed on densely grown weedy places (Ref. 205).
