Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Tigris-Euphrates basin (Ref. 33304). Also recorded from the Orontes (Ref. 33550).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Record length is about 102 cm TL; 150 cm TL and 60 kg are questionable - anecdotal or unverifiable reports (Ref. 93003: http://www.fishing-worldrecords.com/scientificname/Aspius%20vorax/show).
