Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Chao Phraya basin and streams of the Gulf of Thailand (Ref. 12693). Reported from the Mekong basin (Ref. 26336).
Diagnosis:  Has 4 stripes on caudal peduncle; 11-12 predorsal scales; 5+20 gill rakers on anterior side of first arch (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Inhabits large and medium-sized rivers as well as streams. Diet is probably similar to other species of Lobocheilos (Ref. 12693). Found browsing on algae growing on rocks in clear, shallow water (Ref. 1632).
