| Diagnosis: | Has 4 stripes on caudal peduncle; 11-12 predorsal scales; 5+20 gill rakers on anterior side of first arch (Ref. 12693). | |||
| Biology: | Inhabits large and medium-sized rivers as well as streams. Diet is probably similar to other species of Lobocheilos (Ref. 12693). Found browsing on algae growing on rocks in clear, shallow water (Ref. 1632). | |||
