Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Egypt.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. This species is characterized by the following: D VI, I,8 (9 in one specimen); A I,8 (7 in one specimen); P 14-15; 33-34 lateral line scales; 8-9 transverse scale count; anterior interorbital pores are as wide as the canals and directed upward (Ref. 83991).
