Family:  Labrisomidae (Labrisomids)
Max. size:  7.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 5 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Bahamas to Cuba, south through the Antilles to Curaçao, and through the Caribbean Islands to the central American coast (Ref. 5521).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 19-20; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 19-20
Biology:  Inhabits sandy bottoms with rocks or boulders (Ref. 5521), seagrass beds, and patch reefs (Ref. 9710).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 18 October 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
