Max. size:  2.99 cm SL (male/unsexed); 2.72 cm SL (female)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil, Estado de Goias, Municipo de Mineiros. Known only from the type locality, a stream tributary to the BabilĂ´nia River, upper Araguaia River Basin (Ref. 92338).
Diagnosis:  Differs from all other species of the genus, except M. litteratus, by the presence of a short dark yellowish grey stripe on the caudal fin in females, connecting black caudal spot on the middle of the fin (vs. never a horizontal mark in this position) (Ref. 92338).
