Max. size:  15.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range - 5 m
Distribution:  Oceania: endemic to New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in rivers to elevations of at least 8 m. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at about 10 cm SL.
