| Biology: | Adults feed essentially on Podostemaceae (Lacis), more rarely on seeds (Caladium). During the rainy season, they undertake grand migrations to small creeks to reproduce (Ref. 12225). An important food fish. Possesses powerful dentition that can cause serious bites. | |||
