Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Nam Theun of the Mekong basin in Laos.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-8. With 7-11 large blotches along mid-dorsal line and 8-13 along the middle of the sides; hyaline fins; a roundish black spot at base of upper principal caudal rays; a vertically elongated black blotch along lower half of caudal-fin base (Ref. 27732).
Biology:  Usually associated with sandy substrate with moderate current (Ref. 27732).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 January 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
