Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Sesan and Ba rivers in Vietnam.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9. 2-3 small black spots on last simple dorsal-fin ray; dark blotch at base of simple and first two branched dorsal-fin rays; head spotted; color pattern with 8-13 dark blotches along lateral line, reaching venter in most specimens; no conspicuous black stripe along lateral line or along mid-dorsal longitudinal line; caudal peduncle elongated, 1.9-2.4 times longer than deep; no acuminate scales on caudal peduncle; distinct median incision in upper lip.
Biology:  Adult specimens have been collected in fast-flowing rivers with rock or large-sized gravel substratum; juveniles from sandy substratum in moderate current.
