Max. size:  19.3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 3 - 55 m
Distribution:  Caribbean: Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Colombia; probably to the northern border of Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 104-107. This species is distinguished by the following characters: total vertebrae 104-107, preanal vertebrae 48-49; predorsal vertebrae 42-45; larvae with a sharp intestinal loop; presence of the posterior lateral melanophore and anterior ventral melanophore (Ref. 133039).
