Found in temporary water bodies: swamps, roadside and drainage ditches, pools and depressions downstream of culverts; in turbid to very turbid water; usually no aquatic vegetation present, only some grasses and reeds may be found near the banks (Ref. 26661). Bottom spawner, 4 months incubation (Ref. 27139). Young can reach sexual maturity in 6 or 7 weeks (Ref. 59344). |
