Family:  Adrianichthyidae (Ricefishes), subfamily: Oryziinae
Max. size:  3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia: eastern India and Bangladesh.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal soft rays: 22-24; Vertebrae: 29-30. Principal caudal fin rays 6/6.
Biology:  Usually occurs near the coast but may live in fresh water as well as in brackish habitats (Ref. 27658).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 11 August 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
