Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  11.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin.
Diagnosis:  Upturned mouth; light and dark marks forming a radial pattern surrounding eye (Ref. 27661); depressed head and body; a more or less complete ocellus on the posterior part of the body; a series of oblique stripes on the cheeks and on the lower anterior part of the body (Ref. 27732).
Biology:  Usually found in large rivers with muddy substrate, close to the bottom (Ref. 27732). May also be found in rocky bottoms (Ref. 27661).
