Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 1070 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: Banzare Seamount and Elan Seamount.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 61-64; Anal soft rays: 52-56; Vertebrae: 67-70. This species is characterized by the following: simple and uniserial (except symphysis) teeth on lower jaw, 70-85 in a single row; gill rakers 10; strongly approximated chin; small opercular opening, close to diameter of pupil; with small opercular lobe; pectoral fin notch deep and without rudimentary rays; head 16-19%, anteanal distance 41.5-45.5% SL. Colour of body pinkish-lilac, peritoneum black, stomach light (Ref. 44814).
