Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Having simple, unicuspid teeth in both dentary and premaxilla; maxillary barbel long and not coalescing with the lower lip; 3-6 azygous pre-adipose plates; nuptial males with pectoral fin spines thickened and richly ornamented with long hypertrophied odontodes (Ref. 42856). |
