Distribution:  South America: Paraná and coastal drainages of Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Pelvic fin spine 33.7-52.4% SL; cleithral width 52.7% SL (Ref. 42856).
Biology:  Caught in small crevices formed by loose stones; clear and fast flowing water with a gravel and rocks bottom composition (Ref. 36817).
