Reports from Lower Guinea (e.g. Ref. 41578, 51193) are misidentifications of Pelmatochromis nigrofasciatus (Ref. 81260). |
Description: body moderately deep; frontal profile straight; snout short (Ref. 52307).
Coloration: body yellowish-brown with pale gray fins; some small pale dots in dorsal fin; 6 dark vertical bars sometimes present on flanks; small black Peimatochromis-spot present at about height of anterior end of soft dorsal fin (Ref. 52307). |
