Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic to West Indian Ocean: Point Nolloth, South Africa to southern Mozambique, and Reunion I. (Ref. 53568).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 4-9; Anal soft rays: 7-9. Brownish in color.
Biology:  Found on the continental shelf (Ref. 75154).
