Dorsal spines (total): 87-90; Dorsal soft rays (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 50-53. Caudal small; pectorals ovoid; pelvic fins minute (Ref. 6885). Color in life variable, magenta and silver; dark marks at base of dorsal fin in about 15 light targets, and vague darker inverted U's on lower part of body; head somewhat darker above with a light mark running back from eye (Ref. 6885). |
Found in rocky areas (Ref. 2850); entirely subtidal (Ref. 48978). |
