Biology: | Adults are found exclusively in surge zone of seaward reef margins (Ref. 9710). They occur in or near Acropora or Pocillopora coral patches (Ref. 1602). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). A solitary territorial herbivore (Ref. 1602). Feeds on benthis algae (Ref. 89972). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205).
