Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Description: Characterized by brown color with blackish scale margins; head with irregular blackish lines dorsally; operculum with orange margin; pair of short black stripes behind eye; oblique black band below eye; dorsal fin with orange tips and black submarginal stripe; caudal fin dusky yellow with brown band on basal portion; tubed lateral line scales 18-20+10-16; midlateral line scale series 23-25; predorsal scales 6-8; cheek scale rows 3-6 (Ref. 90102). | |||
Biology: | Eggs are guarded by the male parent (Ref. 205). Found in reef crevices in 1-30 m (Ref 90102). | |||
