Family:  Gastromyzontidae (Hillstream loaches)
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia: known to be endemic to Guangdong Province, China (Ref. 33406), but reported from Hong Kong (Ref. 5258).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rapid flowing streams. Feed on periphytic algae and detritus on rock surfaces (Ref. 33406).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 January 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
