Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Zanzibar, Tanzania to Inhaca Island, Mozambique; extends south to Aliwal Shoal in South Africa (Ref. 11228).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Inhabits quiet weedy bottoms.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 July 2008 Ref. (130435)
