Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Differs from its congeners in northeastern India and Chindwin drainage by the combination of the following characters: 8 1/2 branched dorsal-fin rays; color pattern variable, with 8-11 obscure dark grey bars; male with conspicuous suborbital flap; processus dentiformis weak; no adipose crest (Ref. 55394). Description: 3/ 8 1/2. A 3/ 5 1/2 (Ref. 55394).
