Max. size:  5.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Consists of about 10 bars superposed over 5-7 elongate blotches on sides; processus dentiformis present; males have no suborbital flap; incomplete lateral line reaching pelvic fin origin, with 20-25 pores; 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays; 9+8 branched caudal rays; emarginate caudal fin; complete black basal caudal bar; axillary pelvic lobe minute or absent; anus situated 1.5 eye diameters in front of anal fin (Ref. 39226). With a dark spot at dorsal-fin origin and a lighter spot posteriorly at dorsal-fin base; belly without scales nearly to pelvic fins, back scaled (Ref. 12693).
