Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Nam Theun of the Mekong basin in Laos.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-8. No scale in the predorsal area; 8-11 faint dark bars on a yellowish brown background, in the predorsal area usually wider and not meeting their homologues on the dorsal mid-line; in life, caudal fin with bright orange dorsal and ventral margins (Ref. 27732).
Biology:  Found in clear, fast water on gravel to pebble substrate (Ref. 27732).
