Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 8 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: known only from Socorro Island (Revillagigedo Islands).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-8
Biology:  Inhabits sand-rubble areas (sandy bottom with scattered rocks and corals) used for shelter (Ref. 81032).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 02 May 2008 (D2) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
