Description: Characterized by generally dusky brown pale yellowish color; first 6-7 dorsal spines forked distally and skin covering spinous dorsal fin forming broad dorsal hood to cover forked portion of spines; oblique scale rows about 54-58; relatively small eye, 8.2-9.2 % SL; depth of body about 5.3-6.1 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Found in silt/sand bottoms in brackish habitats near mouths of freshwater tidal streams in 0.5-1 m (Ref 90102). |
